STATEWIDE, N.D. – North Dakotans embraced the spirit of personal responsibility this holiday by choosing ND Sober Ride to get home safely after celebrating.
A total of 314 rides were provided statewide from Dec. 18 to Jan. 4, 2025 — a remarkable 97% increase from the same period in 2022 and an 11% increase from 2023.
“Choosing ND Sober Ride isn’t just a smart choice, it’s a powerful statement that safety matters,” said Lauren Wahlman. “Every ride taken contributes to Vision Zero’s mission of eliminating impaired driving and creating safer roads for everyone,” said NDDOT Safety Public Information Program Manager Lauren Wahlman.
Rides are sponsored by AAA – The Auto Club Group of North Dakota. Companies interested in becoming a part of the solution can sponsor ND Sober Ride by contacting lwahlman@nd.gov.
This campaign is part of the Vision Zero strategy to eliminate motor vehicle crash fatalities and serious injuries on North Dakota roads.
