JAMESTOWN – James Poole scored 7:34 into the first period Saturday for the goal that put University of Jamestown ACHA Division 2 Men’s Hockey ahead to stay in a 3-2 win over Waldorf at Wilson Arena.

Blake Klien scored his second for the Jimmies (14-10) at 2:30 of the opening period, assisted by Scott Naukatsik and Jackson LaBrasseur.  Zach Jimenez tied the game for Waldorf a minute and a half later.  Poole scored his 18th goal, set up by Spencer Schipferling, and Jamestown led 2-1 after one period.

A power play goal by Easton Romsdal at 9:59 of the second period made the UJ lead 3-1.  Romsdal’s seventh goal was assisted by Tanner Freed and LaBrasseur.  Blake Raddatz scored with 2:53 left in the second period for Waldorf.

Alex Lamont made 26 saves for the Jimmies in net.  Jamestown had 40 shots to 28 for Waldorf.

Jamestown will host St. Thomas Saturday and Sunday of next weekend.
