VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Barnes County Historical Society (BCHS) Lecture Series for Thursday, January 16th at 7pm in the museum will feature a 16-millimeter Film Fest with curator Wes Anderson. The museum has a small collection of mid to late 20th century educational movies that range in tops from National and International politics to science, cold war, Vietnam, environmental, social, and health issues. This presentation is brought to you by the now non-existent Fidelity Savings and Loan of Valley City. This fun event is free and open to the public. Lewie Legge will be preparing and sharing his homemade root beer to enjoy during the movie.
The second upcoming event: The Annual Pancake Feed Fundraiser will be held Monday, January 20th from 4:30pm to 7:00pm in the Valley City Eagles, downstairs in the Riverside Room. Suggested free will offering: $10 adults, $5 children. Serving traditional hotcakes and Swedish pancakes, pork sausage, butter, honey, traditional syrup and Lewie Legge’s homemade Box Elder syrup, coffee and water.
Barnes County Historical Society (BCHS) officers and board members will flipping pancakes and Phi Beta Theta History Club from Valley City State University (VCSU) will be assisting.
Annual memberships and Barnes County 150 Anniversary books will also be available for purchase these events.
Annual memberships: $20 individual, $35 family, and $50 for businesses.
150 Anniversary Book: $30 makes for a wonderful gift to yourself or a loved one.
And Barnes County was born on January 4th, 1872, so a belated Happy Birthday to Barnes County!
