Oakes, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The RV Oakes Tornadoes picked up another victory in their long win streak as they expanded it out to 7 games beating Hankinson in their District 1 play opener by a final score of 52-22.
The game was started with a lights out performance by the Tornadoes as they would go 9/16 in the first from the field while only allowing a single bucket in the first quarter from the Pirates. They would take a 24-3 lead after the quarter. The score at the half would be 34-9 as Oakes would continue to extend out their lead in the 2nd quarter.
The Tornadoes would lock it up in the third going 5/12 in from the field and only allowing 2 field goals from Hankinson to take a 45-13 lead. The Tornadoes would then hold on to win a 52-22 blow out.
The Tornadoes would go 20/53 from the field as a team with 10/20 from the line being led in scoring by Molly Sitzler with 11 on the night. Hankinson went 8/32 on the night from the floor being led by Camri Kelly who had 8 points.
The Bank North Player of the Game was Sitzler.
Oakes is now on a 7 game win streak and is now 1-0 in District Play. They will play against Sisseton at home on Saturday.
