MINOT – Jamestown Blue Jay Girls Basketball looked to give top-ranked Minot a tough time on the road, and for a while, they did.  But the Majelles maintained a steady lead from late in the first half onward and stopped Jamestown Tuesday 59-40 at Minot High School’s Magic City Campus.

Jamestown (2-5, 0-4 WDA) had a 9-8 lead with just under 12 minutes to play in the first half, but Minot (7-0, 3-0), working through a physical game, had 24 points and 11 rebounds from Leelee Bell.  Kinley Bartsch scored 15 for the Majelles, all on five three-pointers.  Sydney Aberle tallied 10 points with five rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Leah Trumbauer paced the Blue Jays with 14 points, including two three-pointers.  Macey Neumiller scored eight and pulled down eight rebounds.  Amelia Newman dropped in seven points.  Mari Anderson had seven rebounds and Adi Yunck gave four assists.

Jamestown will host Bismarck on Friday at 6:00 PM at Jerry Meyer Arena.
