Devils Lake, N.D.—The Carrington boys basketball team advanced to the Ramsey County championship game behind 10 three pointers and a game high 27 points from senior guard Josh Bickett. Bickett drilled 3 of his game high 4 three pointers in the first quarter as the Cards jumped out to a 25-11 advantage after the opening 8 minutes. Taylen Mehring added 2 additional triples in the opening quarter and added 15 points for the Cards. Grady Idland added another triple in the first quarter (6 overall) and finished with 6 points. Maddox McIlonie added 15 points for the victorious Cards.
Griggs-Midkota would try and fight back in the third quarter after trailing 37-19 at halftime, cut the Cardinal lead to 8 points at 43-35. The Cards answered with a 5-0 run to end the third and took a48-35 lead into the final frame. The Cards extend the lead back to as many 23 points at 61-38 before closing out the win at 63-40. The Titans were paced by Brady Haugen with 13 points and Will Spickler with 10 points. The Titans dropped to 2-1 overall and Carrington improved to 5-2. Carrington will play the Devils Lake JV in the championship at 3:30 on Saturday and the Titans will play at 2:00 against Warwick in the third place game.
