JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department wants to notify Jamestown residents about a new high risk sex offender who is residing within the city of Jamestown. William Joseph Schwer lives at 1530 6th Ave SW #34 in the Buffalo Motel Jamestown.
Schwer has been assigned a high-risk assessment by the North Dakota risk level committee, Office of the Attorney General.
Schwer was 31-years-old when he was in possession of 282 files and approximately 50 images of child pornography, including prepubescent minors. Conviction Date: 02/15/2005 in US Federal Court. Disposition: 180 months; credit for time served; 5 years supervised probation.
Schwer was also charged with Child Molestation 2nd Degree – 2 counts. Conviction Date: 03/30/2004 in Whatcom County District Court, Washington. Disposition: 34 months; 36 months supervision.
Schwer is not wanted by police at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court. This notification is meant for public safety and not to increase fear in the community, nor should this information be used to threaten, assault or intimidate the offender. Attempts to harass, intimidate, or threaten these offenders or their families, landlords, or employers will be turned over for prosecution.
