VALLEY CITY, ND  (NewsDakota.com)  Valley City State volleyball’s Sadie Hansen and Macy Fridgen were each named Honorable Mention All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Sadie Hansen, a 5-foot-10 senior, earned the All-American honor after leading the North Star with 1,033 total assists and 9.8 assists per set in 2024. The Oakes, N.D. native broke the school record for career assists this season and finished with 4,334 assists in the Viking uniform. In her senior campaign, Hansen added 321 digs, 135 kills and 29 blocks for VCSU. Hansen was also named 1st Team All-Region by the AVCA as well as 1st Team All-Conference and Setter of the Year by the North Star Athletic Association in 2024.

Macy Fridgen, a 6-foot-1 junior, has earned her first All-American recognition in her first season as a Viking. The junior outside hitter ranked fourth in the conference with 333 total kills and 3.14 kills per set. The Bismarck, N.D. native tallied a season-high 18 kills on a .302 hitting percentage against Montana Western on Oct. 11. Fridgen also earned AVCA 1st Team All-Region and NSAA 1st Team All-Conference this season.

The AVCA All-America Teams for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics were chosen by the NAIA Volleyball All-America Selection Committee.
