Oakes, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Tornadoes struggled with turnovers in the 2nd half of the game against the Leola-Frederick Titans as they fell by a final score of 57-46.

The game started off well for  the Titans as they’d take a 19-10 lead after the 1st quarter as they prevented Oakes from getting into a rhythm. The Tornadoes were only able to go 4/11 from the field in the opening frame. Oakes would battle back however pouncing early in the 2nd to take a 22-21 lead. That lead would not last however as the Titans would storm back to take a 30-26 lead going into the half.

In the 3rd Oakes struggled to get anything going as the Titans clamped down defensively and earned many turnovers on passes into the paint. They would build their lead tp 42-32 at the end of 3. That lead would remain unchallenged as Leola-Frederick did just enough to keep in front of Oakes in the final frame winning 57-46.

As a team Oakes shot 19/43 from the field and 5/15 from the line. The Titans went 19/37 from the field and 15/25 from the stripe.
