JAMESTOWN – In the opening evening of 2024-25 WDA basketball, the Jamestown Blue Jays found themselves against solid programs and found themselves way behind.

Bismarck Century swept both games from Jamestown Tuesday at Jerry Meyer Arena, with the Patriot girls topping the Blue Jays 65-47 and the Century boys breezing past Jamestown 96-46.

Girls: Century 65, Jamestown 47
Century (3-1, 1-0 WDA) scored the game’s first 10 points and had a double-digit lead for most of the rest of the game.
Abby Fosland scored 19 to lead the Patriots and Zoie Austin scored 15.
For the second straight game, eighth-grader Macey Neumiller led Jamestown (2-2, 0-1), scoring 13 points.

Boys: Century 96, Jamestown 46
The fourth-ranked team in the latest media AA poll started sharply and never let up.
Century (4-0, 1-0 WDA) was led by Gibson Kinnebrew, who had 28 points, including 17 in the first half.
Thomas Newman paced Jamestown (0-3, 0-1) with 17 points, after he had scored 71 combined in the season’s first two games.

On Friday, both Blue Jay teams will have their last games before the holidays at Mandan. Coverage will begin at 5:30 PM on Friday on Q101.
