JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Blue Jay Girls Hockey team had the home ice Saturday against Grand Forks and the Knightriders left town with a 4-1 victory.

Eighth grader Alaina Marto scored two goals to spark Grand Forks and another eighth grader, Elly Bry, snapped in a power play goal.

Jamestown sliced into a 3-0 deficit late in the second when Freshman Grace Allmaras went end to end, split between a pair of Knightrider defensemen and scored her second goal of the season with a wrister from the bottom of the left face off circle.

Blue Jay Freshman goalie Ady Bakalar made her first varsity start and played well as she kicked out 31 of the 35 shots she faced.

Jamestown was outshot 35-13.

Grand Forks improved to 3-1-0-0 and the Jays slipped to 1-3-0-0.

Next up for the Blue Jays is a trip to Fargo Davies on Tuesday.
