BOTTINEAU – Gabe Halko scored the first two goals of a four-goal second period for Jamestown Blue Jays Boys Hockey Friday in a 5-3 win over Bottineau/Rugby at the Bottineau Community Arena.  The Jays are now 3-0-0-0 (3-0-0-0 West).

Halko tied the game at 1-1 at 2:25 of the middle period, set up by John Belzer.  At 9:31, Halko, assisted by Jacoby Traut, scored again for a 2-1 Jamestown lead.

Vaughn Romsdal made the Blue Jay advantage 3-1 at 11:11 of the second period, with Jackson Maddock assisting.

Khaliel Abdurrahman scored for Bottineau/Rugby (1-2-0-0, 0-1-0-0) with exactly 90 seconds left in the period, but freshman Parker Roelfsma answered for Jamestown just 14 seconds later and the Blue Jays led 4-2 after two periods.

Peyton Getzalff brought the Braves within 4-3 with a goal with 1:02 left in the third period, but Maddock scored an unassisted goal to clinch the game for Jamestown with 20 seconds remaining.

Leif Hanson earned his third consecutive win in net, stopping 20 of 23 shots.  The Blue Jays outshot the Braves 31-23.

Jamestown will host Bismarck High on Thursday at Wilson Arena.
