JAMESTOWN – They all played, they almost all scored and they all helped in a convincing win.

Jamestown Jimmie Women’s Basketball charged to an 18-point halftime lead Saturday, then used a 26-4 third-quarter advantage to run past Midland 86-57 at Harold Newman Arena.

In just 16 minutes, Hannah Hagel scored 14 to lead Jamestown (5-1).  Hagel was seven-of-11 shooting with five rebounds, a block and an assist.

Sam Paulsen scored 12, all coming on four three-pointers in the first quarter.  The first three came only 1:24 apart and the last of those took Midland (1-7) out of the lead for the last time in the game.

Transfer Emily Kurkowski scored nine points for Jamestown on three three-pointers.  Kate Busek hit two three-pointers and tallied eight points.

Elly Bovaird scored 21 points for Midland.

A Leah Redding jumper tied the game for Midland at 13-13 with 3:52 left in the first quarter, but Sarah Lenz popped in a three just 20 seconds later for the Jimmies, who led for the rest of the game.  That shot begin a 12-2 run to end the first quarter.

Bovaird started the second quarter with a three for the Vikings, but Jamestown opened up an 18-point halftime lead at 47-29.

Starting late in the second, Jamestown scored 20 points in a row for a 65-29 lead, which stretched out to 73-33 after three quarters.  Reserves were give the chance to play the entire fourth quarter for the Jimmies.

14 players were in uniform for Jamestown and 13 scored.  The Jimmies hit 14 three-pointers.

This is the second time in three seasons that the Jimmies have been 5-1 through their first six games, also doing so in 2022-23.  Jamestown will play Montana Western on Thursday in Dillon, Montana.  Coverage will begin at 6:00 PM on The Voice of the Jimmies, Jamestown 107.1.
