GRIMES, IA – University of Jamestown heavyweight men’s wrestler Chance Robinson had a third place finish, best among Jimmies Saturday at the Grand View Open at the Ignit Sports Complex.

Robinson won by major decision in his first two matches, 14-2 over Jaylin Bien-Aime of Lindsey Wilson and 17-3 over Xavier Smith of Graceland.  Robinson won in the quarterfinal round by sudden victory, 8-1 over Mason Harris of Benedictine.

In the semifinal round, Robinson lost 6-0 to the eventual champion, James Bankston of Pratt CC.  He then pinned Grant Stromberg of Northern Iowa in 2:44 and defeated Pratt’s Marcel Gonzalez 11-1 for third place.

157-pound wrestlers Jonathan Pacheco and Samuel Sampers won in the Freshman/Sophomore division.

The Jimmies will compete Saturday in Leavenworth, Kansas at the Spire Duals.
