VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Public School District is reaching out to inform parents and guardians of an important safety requirement for students who will be utilizing school bus services during the winter months at Valley City Public Schools.
Superintendent Josh Johnson said effective Monday, November 18, 2024, all students riding the school bus, whether for regular routes or extracurricular activities, will be required to have in their possession a winter coat, hat, and gloves. This is to ensure the safety and well-being of our students in anticipation of the severe cold and winter weather conditions that we incur in North Dakota between November and March. Should you encounter any difficulties in providing your student(s) with the necessary winter clothing, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are committed to assisting families and ensuring that all students are adequately prepared for the winter season.
Johnson said our bus drivers and coaches will be reinforcing this requirement with students, and any student who fails to comply will have their bus riding privileges suspended until the necessary winter attire is provided. The safety of our students remains a top priority, and we greatly appreciate your cooperation and support in upholding this important requirement.
If you have any questions or require assistance with winter clothing, please feel free to contact us at 701-845-0483 or via email at josh.johnson@k12.nd.us.
