VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Four juveniles were injured in a rollover in Barnes County on Sunday, October 27th near Valley City.
According to one of the witnesses, the teenage driver was going at a high rate of speed around a curve on a gravel road, rolled the vehicle multiple times before if came to rest in a ditch.
On October 29th, the Barnes County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one vehicle roll over in the 11200 block of 34th Street SE.
Sheriff McClaflin said a 2009 Pontiac G6 driven by a 15-year-old Juvenile, of Valley City ND was traveling west on 34th Street SE when it entered the intersection and became airborne. According to an eyewitness the vehicle was traveling at speeds over 70 miles per hour. After crossing the intersection and re-entering the roadway the vehicle lost control resulting in it leaving the roadway, rolling several times and coming to rest on its roof in a slough. While on its roof, the driver and three passengers, one 15-year-old and two 10-year-old juveniles all of Valley City were able to exit the vehicle.
All occupants of the vehicle were transported to Mercy hospital and later released with minor injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was issues a citation for Careless Driving.
