JAMESTOWN – On the night the seniors were saluted, they and the other Jamestown Blue Jays made it tough on a top team in WDA volleyball.

Still, the visitors prevailed.

Bismarck High rallied in all three sets to record a sweep over Jamestown Tuesday at Jerry Meyer Arena 25-17, 25-21, 26-24.

After being down by four points twice, Bismarck (22-8, 15-2 WDA) scored 19 of the last 26 points to take the first set.

Jamestown (17-11, 9-7) led for most of the second set and at 21-20, but the Demons scored the set’s last five points.

The Blue Jays started the third set with a 6-0 lead, but rallied to tie it at 22-22.  An attack error by Bismarck gave Jamestown the lead, but a service error by the Blue Jays evened the score again.  A Brooklyn Busch tip gave Jamestown set point, but a Mya Williams kill forced a 24-24 tie, then two Jamestown errors ended the match.

Jordan Rood led Bismarck with 16 kills.  Williams had seven.  Madison Foster had 21 digs and Aspen Roaldson notched 20.

Leah Trumbauer had 11 kills and 12 digs for Jamestown.  Lucy Falk had 10 kills and nine digs.  Busch had seven kills.  Jetta Peterson had 20 digs.  Edie Hegerle scored 14 digs and served four aces.

On Thursday, the Blue Jays will meet another one of the WDA leaders, Bismarck Legacy, on the road.  Coverage will begin Thursday at around 6:45 PM on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1.
