Mason Walters, one of Jamestown’s greatest athletes, is now a professional.

Walters, who led Jamestown High School to a state basketball championship, later became the all-time scorer and rebounder for the Jamestown Jimmies, then played for one season at the University of Wyoming, has signed with the new Valley Suns of the G-League, the NBA’s developmental league.

The Valley Suns are the G-League team of the Phoenix Suns.  Over the summer, Walters had signed with the Suns’ Summer League team, only to not play due to a strained quad.

This signing gives Walters an opportunity to make the Valley Suns, whose training camp will begin on October 28 and last until the first week of November.  The team’s first game will be on November 8.
