CROOKSTON, MN – Crookston’s Golden Eagles wouldn’t let up.

After a 6-2 win Friday over Jamestown, Minnesota-Crookston ACHA Division 2 Men’s Hockey had a hat trick from Brad Romfo and two goals and two assists from Fox Dodds Saturday in a 9-4 drubbing of the Jimmies at the Crookston Sports Center.

Crookston (2-0-0-0) scored three times in the first 10:26 with Anthony Foster, Dodds and Logan Syrup.  Tanner Freed scored only 18 seconds after Syrup to put Jamestown (4-3-0-0) on the board.  A minute later, Zach Larson scored for the Golden Eagles, with Aiden Morelli then scoring only 33 seconds after that.  The Jimmies then rallied with goals by James Poole and a second by Freed, and UJ was down just 5-3 after a wild first period.

Dodds scored a powerplay goal at 8:48 of the second period for Crookston.

James Hooton scored his sixth for the Jimmies 90 seconds into the third period and Jamestown was within 6-4, but Romfo then scored his three, two of which were on the powerplay due to a game misconduct to Hooton, in a span of 2:12 later in the frame.

Xavier Baker made 53 saves for Jamestown, who was outshot 62-38.

UJ will host Minnesota Saturday afternoon at 3:30 at Wilson Arena.
