MINOT – Abby Tallman tied the game with a late third period goal, then scored the shootout winner Saturday as Minot State defeated University of Jamestown ACHA Women’s Hockey 3-2 at Maysa Arena.

Jamestown (1-2-1-1) led 2-1 until Tallman scored with 4:40 remaining in the third period.  Neither team scored in the five-minute three-on-three overtime and in the first four rounds of the shootout.  The Jimmies failed on their fifth try in the shootout before Tallman scored the winner for Minot State (3-2-1-0).

Tori Bear scored a powerplay goal for Minot State in the first period before Jamestown rallied in the second period.

Rylee Gee tied the game at 8:19 of the second, set up by Jayden Baker and Sam Beaulac.  Alivia Tilbury then scored her first goal as a Jimmie at 18:18, assisted by Bethany Wielgosh.

Makenzie Gibson made 21 saves in the second period and 43 for the game for Jamestown.  Minot State had a 45-38 shot advantage.

Jamestown will host Minnesota Saturday at noon at Wilson Arena.
