COLUMBIA, MO – Both Columbia College of Missouri soccer teams are nationally ranked, and both were too much at home Saturday for the University of Jamestown.

The 11th-ranked Columbia women defeated the Jimmies 4-0 Saturday, then the 16th-ranked Cougar men were 6-2 winners over Jamestown, both at R. Marvin Owens Field.

Women: (11)Columbia College 4, Jamestown 0
Though Jamestown (5-7-0) outshot Columbia 5-4 in the first half, the Cougars (8-1-1) had a 1-0 halftime lead, thanks to an 18th-minute goal by Emma Cloud.
An own goal in the 51st minute improved the Columbia lead to 2-0. Riley Porter scored in the 56th minute and Macie Lucas tallied in the 63rd.
Columbia outshot Jamestown 13-9. Allyson Johnson made four saves in the Jimmies’ goal.
Jamestown will next play Thursday against College of St. Mary in Omaha.

Men: (16)Columbia College 6, Jamestown 2
Dylan Prater and Joao Pimenta scored in the first 4:18 to send Columbia (7-2-2) to an early 2-0 lead.
Julio Gonzalez made the Cougar lead 3-0 in the 55th minute, but Alejandro Tocino Vidal converted a penalty kick for his third goal and the Jimmies (3-7-3) were within 3-1.
Gonzalez struck again in the 60th minute for Columbia.
Jamestown moved to within 4-2 on Oscar Salgado’s fifth goal in the 86th minute, but Brady Freeman (88th) and Josh Sutton (89th) scored exactly a minute apart to clinch the match for Columbia.
The Jimmies will meet fifth-ranked Bellevue Saturday in Papillion, Nebraska.
