Senior Night began with a ceremony celebrating all of Oakes’ seniors with 9 players graduating this year.

The match started with Oakes jumping out to a 5-0 lead and extending the lead to 9-2 before Richland battled back to a 1 point deficit twice at 9-8 and 10-9. Oakes would then score 7 straight to take a 17-10 lead. The Colts would bring themselves back to 3 down at 17-14 before Oakes would go on a 8-1 run to win the set 25-18.

Set 2 started a lot closer with 2 lead changes and 5 ties up to 6-6 before Oakes went on a 8 point run to take a 14-6 lead. Richland would not be able to get close after that with Oakes taking the set 25-14.

Set 3 saw the Tornados once again controlling all aspects of play until the end as they took a lead immediately and never looked back. They’d get match point at 24-12 however they’d struggle to close the match as the Colts would get the next 4 before Oakes inevitably won 25-16.

The Bank North Player of the game was Kassidy Jackson.

Next up for the Tornados is their final District 5 matchup of the season as the Carrington Cardinals come to town on Tuesday October 15th.
