LANGDON- Josh Bickett accounted for 204 yards, Tate Wolsky had three rushing touchdowns and the Carrington Cardinals snapped Langdon/Edmore/Munich’s fifteen game regional winning streak with a 27-19 road win Friday night in Langdon.

It started immediately as Wolsky scored on the third play from scrimmage on a 48-yard lateral for a touchdown and Carrington (5-2, 3-2) led 7-0.  After Langdon (5-2, 4-1) tied it, Bickett found Peyton Harrington for a 21-yard touchdown for a 13-7 lead.  Then the Carrington defense got two consecutive goal-to-go stops before Langdon tied it at 13 at the half.

The only lead the heavily-favored Cardinals took all night came at the start of the third quarter on a drive that ended with a 4-yard touchdown run, and after they failed on the PAT Langdon led 19-13.

But the undermanned Cardinals, playing without senior Corbin Clifton, answered immediately with a three minute drive of their own, capped by Wolsky scoring on 4th-and-goal from the two.  Harrington’s point after gave Carrington a 20-19 lead.  Wolsky would add a one-yard run in the fourth for a 27-19 lead.

Langdon would get one last chance and get to the Carrington 25 yard line but QB Jax Johnson was strip sacked by Alec Threadgold and Dylan Bachmeier fell on the football to clinch Carrington’s first win over Langdon since 2015.

The Cardinals return home Friday night to host the Rugby Panthers with a chance to clinch a second consecutive postseason berth.  Coverage on KDAK The Cardinal begins at 6:30 PM
