JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for Stutsman County, including Jamestown, effective from 7 a.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday. West winds are expected to reach 40 mph, with gusts of up to 60 mph.

Residents should take precautions to secure loose objects that the strong winds could blow around. Small outbuildings, signs, and roofs may sustain damage, and tree branches could be broken, potentially causing power outages. Travel is expected to be hazardous, especially for high-profile vehicles such as trucks and campers.

According to the National Weather Service in Bismarck, there may be a brief lull in the most intense winds on Saturday morning. Those planning to be outdoors or traveling during this period should remain alert to changing conditions.

In addition to the High Wind Warning, a Red Flag Warning will be in effect from mid-morning through the evening on Saturday due to near-critical fire weather conditions.
