JAMESTOWN – The shutout streak ended, but the historic winning streak continued.

Jamestown Blue Jay Boys Soccer completed an undefeated and untied regular season Thursday with a 3-2 win over Bismarck Century at Rotary Field.

Jamestown (16-0-0, 16-0-0 WDA) became the first West Region team to finish a season unbeaten since St. Mary’s in 2003.  The Saints were 14-0 in the regular season.  The 2024 Blue Jays are the first team in WDA history to win 16 straight.

Brady Harty opened the scoring for the Jays in the second minute, set up by Iddi Ramadhani.

But nine minutes later, Dawson Schumacher evened the game for Century (6-9-1, 6-9-1 WDA) to end Jamestown’s scoreless streak at 582 minutes.  Jamestown had recorded seven consecutive shutouts since Century scored on the Blue Jays in a 6-1 JHS win in Bismarck on September 7.

Jackson Steele gave the Jays the lead back in the 41st minute, assisted by Carter Genter, and Harty scored his second of the game and 17th of the season in the 49th minute to give Jamestown a 3-1 lead.

Century came within a goal on a Jake Rabenberg strike in the 68th minute, marking just the second time all season that an opponent had scored twice in one match on Jamestown.  The Blue Jays held on for the win.

Grant Lunde made four saves in net.

Jamestown will play Thursday in the quarterfinal round of the NDHSAA Class A Boys Soccer State Championship against EDC fourth seed West Fargo Sheyenne.  The match will begin at 4:30 PM on Thursday at Cushman Field in Grand Forks.
