GRAND FORKS, N.D. (NWS) – The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for eastern North Dakota, and west-central and northwest Minnesota until 9 p.m. Monday. Dry conditions combined with strong wind prompted the warning.

Some counties affected include Barnes, Cass, Dickey, Grand Forks, Traill, and Steele in North Dakota, and Clay, Norman, Becker, Otter Tail, and Wilkin Counties in Minnesota. The National Weather Service says the warning means fires can spread quickly and easily progress out of control.

There is also a Wind Advisory in effect until 7 p.m. Monday.
