Oakes, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Tornados got the hard fought sweep against the South Border Mustangs on Thursday winning 27-25, 25-15, 25-21.

Set 1 was an amazing back and forth affair with neither team gaining a big lead. There would be 4 lead changes in the set and 12 ties by the end of it. South Border had the lead late in the set at 24-23 but Oakes would take it back at 25-24 and eventually win 27-25.

Set 2 was all Oakes as they got off to a quick 4-1 lead which would eventually turn into an 11-5 lead. They’d then expand it to 20-9 and get set point at 24-10. The Mustangs would not go quietly however as they’d score 5 points before Oakes won it 25-15.

Set 3 was again all Oakes as they’d quickly get a 4-0 lead. South Border would get close to tying it several times but never could. Oakes would get set point at 24-18. South Border again would not quit and scored 3 more points before Oakes won it 25-21.

The Bank North Player of the Game was Brianna Schmitz.
