MAYVILLE – For a second straight night, Jamestown Jimmies Women’s Volleyball provided way too much on the road for an NSAA opponent.

The third-ranked Jimmies picked up their 10th straight win to open the season and their second straight to begin conference play Friday with a three-set win over Mayville State 25-20, 25-19, 25-19 at Lewy Lee Fieldhouse.

The Comets (7-5, 1-1 NSAA) started the first set well with an 8-6 lead, but UJ scored the next eight to have a 14-8 advantage and didn’t lead by less than four in the rest of the set.

Another good Mayville State start in the second set, a 13-9 lead, was answered by seven straight Jamestown points as the Jimmies had 17 kills in the second set.

Jamestown was dominant in the third set, hitting .469 with 16 kills and only one error.

Gracie Adamson hit 14 kills and .393.  Aleah Zieske had 12 kills and 14 digs.  Tenley Buddenhagen had 27 assists, one more than the entire Mayville State team.  Lily Bertsch had 14 assists and five digs.  Ellie Holen notched 24 digs.  Charlee Krieg had two solo blocks.  Lexi Olson had four block assists.

UJ will host eighth-ranked Bellevue in the Jimmies’ home opener Friday at 6:00 PM at Harold Newman Arena.
