FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a non-collision crash on I-94 East at mile marker 352 in Fargo on Monday, at 8:36 p.m., a media release states.

The incident occurred amid backed-up traffic due to road construction in Minnesota. According to authorities, the 39-year-old Fargo woman was riding a 2023 Zhejiang Cfmoto sport bike in the left lane when she approached standstill traffic. As the motorcycle slowed, it tipped to the right, throwing her into the middle lane. Moments later, traffic resumed, and a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 towing a tandem axle camper trailer ran over the motorcyclist, dragging her a short distance.

The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Sanford Health. The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 75-year-old man from Bakersfield, California, and his passenger were uninjured. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The motorcyclist faces charges for driving under the influence and for operating a vehicle without a motorcycle endorsement. No charges have been filed against the driver of the Dodge Ram.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol, Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Fargo Fire Department, and Sanford Ambulance responded to the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
