The Valley City tandem of Jovi Borg and Kadie Kocka combined for 23 kills in their straight sets to win over the Vikings, with Borg adding six aces.

The first set seemed to set the stage for the game, with neither side able to pull more than three points clear of the other as the lead bounced between both sides. With the score at 23-22 in favor of Valley City, Kocka would rack up back-to-back kills, sealing a 25-22 in the first set.

The second set would be much more lopsided, as the Hi-Liners never let the Vikings establish any rhythm, keeping them pinned down with excellent play in front of the net and on defense. Just past the midway point in the second, the Hi-Liners possessed a comfortable 13-7 lead and would proceed to outscore the Vikings 12-5 the rest of the way, with Borg and Bailey Leroux combing for the set-sealing block.

The third set would be more of the same, with both Borg and Kocka dominating at the net, while the timely service of Brynn Lueck and the defense and setting of Kinlee Sufficool helped prevent the Vikings from making a charge. Down 24-13 in the third set, Kindred would tack on a couple more points before an errant Viking serve carried out of play to end the set 25-16 and to end the match three sets to none.

The next game for the Hi-Liners will be tomorrow against the Shanley Deacons at 7:00 PM.
