VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Red Knights 9-11 Tribute Ride was held Sunday, September 15th. More than 300 riders participated in the ride after a ceremony in Valley City.

Valley City Fire Chief Scott Magnuson said money raised from the ride goes to families and businesses in the area who lost their property due to a fire. He said this year, a Valley City family received $500 from the Red Knights after they lost their home to fire in August of 2024.

Kevin and Anita Tulp accepted a check from the Red Knights during a brief ceremony before the 9-11 Tribute Ride. Anita Tulp said no one was hurt, but they are working to rebuild following the fire.

2,977 people lost their lives after the World Trade Center towers collapsed in New York City on September 11th, 2001, of those victims, 412 were first responders including 343 firefighters and 60 police officers.

The Tribute Ride honors all of those who lost their lives during that attack on America.

During the Tribute Ride, tragically, one of the riders, 63-year-old Monte Rodacker of Jamestown was seriously injured in a crash. He was airlifted to a Fargo hospital. His condition has not been released.
