EDGELEY- After taking the first set of District play on the road, Carrington found it tough as the Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier Rebels stormed back for a 3-1 (22-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-15) win over the Cardinals in Edgeley on Thursday night.
EKM (6-3, 1-0) began the second and third sets by scoring six of the first seven points in each set and in the fourth set they leaped out to a 6-0 lead. Carrington (2-1, 0-1) fought back to take leads in each of the second and third sets before the Rebels closed out each of those sets.
Carrington was led by 20 assists from Brynn Smith and 17 more helpers from Isabel Wendel. Kenadie Pazdernik had seventeen digs and Wendel, Mercedes Lura and Harper Kollman all had at least nine kills.
The Cardinals will take part in the Valley City Tournament on Saturday with pool play against Maple River and South Border. The next match broadcast will come Tuesday night at home against Park River-FL at approximately 7:00 PM on KDAK The Cardinal.
