SIOUX CENTER, IA – University of Jamestown Men’s Soccer couldn’t recover from three deficits of two goals Saturday and lost 4-3 to Dordt at the Defender Sports Complex.
A penalty kick goal by Jake Simson in the 41st minute, his fourth tally of the season, had Jamestown (1-1-1) within 2-1 at halftime.
After Dordt took a 3-1 lead, Oscar Salgado drilled a 25-yard free kick into the top right corner for his second goal of the season in the 54th minute to bring the Jimmies within 3-2.
Dordt led 4-2 before Jamestown’s Ben Brake put in a header for the match’s final goal in the 76th minute.
Charlie Clark made three saves in goal for Jamestown, who outshot Dordt 16-10 overall and 11-9 on goal. Mathias Varlet led the Jimmies with four shots.
UJ will meet Central Methodist on Saturday in Fayette, Missouri.
