JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Community Foundation has awarded a $1,500 grant to the Jamestown Cooperative Farmers’ Market Association to support the implementation of an EBT/SNAP program for eligible citizens, a media release states. The grant will also fund a “double your money” bonus for the first $10 spent by clients using EBT cards during the 2024 market season.

The Jamestown Farmers’ Market, held at the Jamestown Civic Center parking lot, has been a summer and fall staple in the community for years. The market operates on Wednesdays from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon, showcasing goods from 11 area vendors.

Over time, the market has expanded its offerings to include fresh produce, grass-fed beef, baked goods, jams and jellies, honey, fresh-cut flowers, breads, bagels, and mushrooms. Organizers encourage early shopping, as the items are popular and tend to sell out quickly.
