VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A friendly reminder that we are registering students this week for the upcoming school year. Please don’t hesitate to contact us at the school or district offices if you have questions or need assistance with school registration. VCHS 7-12 students that need help with class schedules should contact the VCHS school office next week. The counselors will be back in school and able to assist students.
Superintendent Josh Johnson said at the beginning of next week, an email will be shared with parents who have registered their children for busing services for the 2024-2025 school year. The school district will be providing busing services for students living both in and out of town. A shuttle bus will be provided free of charge for students traveling between Jefferson, Washington, VCHS, and the Sheyenne Valley Area Career and Technology Center. If you plan to use this free service, you will still need to register your student for busing services. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we are implementing a new busing service this school year. We recognize there will be a few growing pains but are excited to begin this service this fall.
The City of Valley City is continuing to make improvements to the streets around the HAC and VCHS. These street projects will be continuing into the beginning of this school year. Please note that the 4th St. NW / 2nd Ave NW intersection will be closed during this next phase of the project. There will be road closed/thru traffic only signs installed in the areas south of the HAC and west of VCHS. For the safety of our students and to decrease the potential traffic congestion, we will encourage students, staff, parents, and visitors to NOT travel through these areas until the project is completed.
Last, we hope that you will join us in celebration of the upcoming school year at Hanna Field on Tuesday, August 13th. The Wellness Fair (Back-to-School Bash) will begin at 5:00 PM. We hope to see you all at Hanna Field next Tuesday!
All students enrolled with Valley City Public Schools should register prior to Friday, August 9th. Our student registration will be completely online and the instructions on completing student registration are provided on our website with the link below. If you have questions or issues arise registering your student for school, please contact our school or district offices between 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
- If you have already pre-registered your incoming kindergarten student this spring, do not register them as a new student, but rather as a returning student.
- Class lists for elementary students in grades K-6 will be available on PowerSchool beginning on Wednesday, August 14th.
- 7-12 grade student class schedules will be available for online viewing in mid-August. Please be looking for an email from Principal Travis Peterson in the next week regarding 7-12 grade student schedules.
