CASS COUNTY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Multiple law enforcement agencies responded late last night to a shooting in rural Cass County, where a male victim was found with critical injuries.
The incident began around 11:41 p.m. on July 31 when the Red River Regional Dispatch Center (RRRDC) received a 911 call from an individual reporting that they had been shot. After initial confusion regarding the victim’s location, law enforcement located the individual near the KFGO radio transmitter building on County Road 81, close to County Road 16.
Emergency medical personnel provided immediate care at the scene before the victim was airlifted by Sanford AirMed to a local hospital. The victim was conscious and alert but had sustained critical injuries. Brief details about the incident were obtained from the victim, whose name and age have not been released.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident, which is believed to be an isolated event between individuals who are acquainted. Authorities do not believe there is any risk to the general public.
