JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Community Foundation has awarded a $2,000 grant to the Jamestown branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) to assist with the remodeling of their new location for the local AAUW Used Bookstore. The bookstore has moved to the former O’Reilly’s Auto Parts Store at 810 18th St. SW in Jamestown and is now open to the public.

Net proceeds from the AAUW Used Bookstore are donated to various local AAUW initiatives, including the scholarship endowment at the University of Jamestown and contributions to organizations such as S.A.F.E Shelter and the Arts Center. The bookstore also supports several advocacy efforts benefiting women and girls.

The community has consistently supported the bookstore through donations of used books and increased patronage over the years. The bookstore’s related projects include distributing 500 children’s books each Halloween to Trick-or-Treaters and donating overstocked books to local organizations such as Little Libraries, churches, daycare centers, and service groups.
