Eric James Triebold, 37, passed away on July 24, 2024, in Valley City, ND. He left us way too soon battling C-PTSD and Stage 4 lung cancer. For anyone that truly knew him, you knew that he loved his family more than anything. They were his entire world and everything else came second. A true family man.

He is survived by his wife Ashley Triebold, children Haylie, Jasmine, Tyson, Kylie, Kaydee and Willa, parents Rick and Kathy, siblings Danny (Casey), Scotty, and Melony (John) and his grandma Patricia. Now he’s up there smiling drinking coffee with Grandpa Herb watching over and protecting us.

He grew up as a farm boy that knew how to work hard and play hard. He always knew how to have a good time and entertain. No matter how bad of a day you were having, he would know how to make you smile. He had determination. Even when he was told he couldn’t do it, that made him work even harder. Eric started his own businesses: Main Street Detail and Towing, E & J Enterprises Inc. and Construction. He even was a police officer for 7 years, finding ways to handle juggling it all. He could do anything, no matter how impossible you thought it would be, he would find a way to make it happen. The man was brilliant.

He loved hunting, fishing, riding motorcycle, dirt bikes, his custom-made rock climber, ATVs, you name it. He was a complete adrenaline rush, and he could wrap you up in it with him. He could modify anything and make it better and faster and stronger. Everything was a project he took on as a challenge and he was damn good at it. He made everything into an adventure. He invested a lot of time into everyone and their needs because he always wanted to make everyone else’s lives better. He was an incredibly devoted and caring person who thrived off helping others.

Eric made such an impact on so many people’s lives that he wanted his death to be a celebration of his life instead, so we’d like to formerly invite you to Eric’s party on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 7pm at Riverbend Farm in Valley City. It’s BYOB and chair and all the stories of how much fun you had with him. There will be music, laughter, happy tears and strippers…. wait, okay, we had to wait on the strippers, but it will be a Hell of a good time and he wants it to be huge!
