BISMARCK – The last two AA Legion league games for the Jamestown Eagles in 2024 went like most of the rest.

Bismarck drilled Jamestown 9-1 and 11-1 Monday at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark.

Game 1: Bismarck 9, Jamestown 1
Gavin Brice and Aiden Johnson combined on a four-hitter to help Bismarck (29-8, 11-5 AA) to the win in the opener.
Brenner Weber tied the game at 1-1 for Jamestown (9-17, 3-14) with an RBI single in the fifth inning before Bismarck scored twice in the bottom of the fifth on on RBI single by Ben LaDuke and a squeeze play by Michael Fagerland.
Two Jamestown errors and four hits helped Bismarck to six unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Derek Hatlewick (0-2) pitched the complete game loss.

Game 2: Bismarck 11, Jamestown 1 (5)
As Tyson Jorissen struggled on the mound for Jamestown, Bismarck scored four runs on four hits in the first inning. The Governors (30-8, 12-5) scored in every inning, then ended the game by run rule with a fifth-inning run. Gavin Lill and Ben Watson each drove in two runs for Bismarck.
Bennett Goehner drove in the only run for Jamestown (9-18, 3-15) with a single in the second inning.

Jamestown will be the 10th seed in next week’s AA Legion state tournament and play on Monday, July 29 in a play-in game. Before that, the Eagles will play a “non-counter” game Thursday in Minot against the Vistas.
