FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A 37-year-old female inmate at the Cass County Jail was found unresponsive late Monday night, prompting a series of life-saving attempts that were ultimately unsuccessful.
The incident occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. during a scheduled well being check by a deputy, who discovered the unresponsive inmate. Deputies immediately initiated life-saving measures. The Fargo Fire Department and Sanford Ambulance were called to assist, providing advanced medical intervention. Despite these efforts, the inmate was pronounced dead.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is collaborating with the Cass County Coroner’s Office, the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), and the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to investigate the in-custody death.
The Sheriff’s Office will release the victim’s name once all notifications have been made.
