JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the driver involved in the crash that killed two boys and injured six others near Jamestown as 30-year-old Stachia Lawson of Cleveland, North Dakota. Lawson was seriously injured in the crash on Monday.
The tragic accident occurred when the SUV driven by Lawson, who is the aunt of the deceased boys, lost control and ended up in a small pond along I-94. Five other children in the vehicle were injured.
According to the Highway Patrol, Lawson lost control of the SUV after a semi-truck passed her. The vehicle then left the interstate, overturned, and came to a rest in the pond.
Among the injured is a 9-year-old girl with life-threatening injuries, while the other injuries are described as minor.
The incident remains under investigation.
