Former Jamestown High School and University of Jamestown basketball star Mason Walters has reportedly accepted an invitation to join the NBA Summer League’s Phoenix Suns.

Draftexpress.com director of scouting Jon Chepkevich first broke the news.

Walters started for the University of Wyoming this past season, averaging 12.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game, hitting eight three-pointers and 82 percent of his free throws.

Walters is the all-time leading scorer and rebounder for the University of Jamestown, where he was named the NABC NAIA National Player of the Year for 2022-23 after averaging 26.6 points per game to lead the nation.  That was also his third season to be named a first team All-American.

He was Mr. Basketball in North Dakota in 2019, when he led Jamestown High School to its first state championship in 26 years, averaging 21.1 points, 11.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.
