IT’S TIME TO COME HOME! Volunteers for the Guelph Community Development Association having been busy preparing for the annual Guelph-Ludden Turkey BBQ. Everyone is welcome to “come home” to Guelph to attend the annual family fun day with tasty BBQ’d turkey and all the trimmings! This year’s celebration will be held on Sunday, July 21, in the Guelph (ND) Community Center and gymnasium, beginning at 11:30 am.

Several people from the two small communities of Guelph and Ludden organized their first Turkey BBQ in Ludden in 1982 for the city’s Centennial celebration. The following year was Guelph’s Centennial, and so the celebration was moved to Guelph, and has been held there every year since 1983.

Serving starts at 11:30 am, and those who attend will be able to enjoy their meal in the air-conditioned comfort of the Guelph gym. The Guelph Community Band will play their concert at 12:15, and all area players are welcome to join the band. Bring your instrument, warm up your lips, and please wear royal blue if you can! The Community Center’s four museum rooms will be available for viewing where the rich history of Guelph and Ludden has been preserved for all to reminisce and enjoy. Youngsters will learn so much about the way things were a century ago when the towns were organized.

There will be a “Shine and Show” car/vehicle show in the parking lot west of the school building. All may register their vehicles, beginning at 10:00 am, and there is no charge to register. Dust off and shine up your favorite car, pick-up, truck, tractor, motorcycle to share with all of those in attendance.

The Silent Basket auction (32auctions.com) will be held online, and some premier items will be on a live auction this year, too. The Silent auction online may be previewed and bids will be accepted beginning Friday, July 19 at 12:00 noon through Sunday, July 21, at 2:00 pm.
