STEELE- The 2024 Class B Region III Tournament continued on Tuesday in Steele with the Regional Finalists being decided.

Game One: #3 New Rockford-Sheyenne 11 #1 Carrington 1 Final/6

Easton Simon spun a gem and the Black Sox carried a 6-0 lead in the second to a run-rule 11-1 win over the Cardinals, avenging two regular season losses.

Brody Weisenberger went 4-for-4 with 3 RBI and Luke Yri drove home two more.  Leadoff hitter Connor Knatterud reached base five times in the win that sent New Rockford-Sheyenne to Wednesday’s Regional Final.  Corbin Clifton homered for Carrington.

Game Two: #5 LaMoure-LM 5 #4 South Border 2

A four-run second inning lifted the Loboes past the Mustangs for the second time in the tournament.

Three of the runs were unearned thanks to three South Border errors.  Jacob Nitschke tossed a complete game, allowing six hits, two runs (one earned), while walking three and striking out six for the Loboes, who advanced to meet Carrington.

Game Three: #5 LaMoure-LM 7 #1 Carrington 4

Seven runs in the first two innings were enough for the Loboes to return to the Regional Final as they held on late for the win.

Colby Thielges launched a 2-run HR in the first and Max Musland added a 2-run single in the opening inning and Thielges tossed 7 IP and struck out 10 to pick up the win.  Ethan Roller had a solo HR for the Cardinals.

The 2024 Class B Region III Final between #5-seed LaMoure-LM and #3-seed New Rockford-Sheyenne can be heard Wednesday at 11:45 AM on Thunder 98.3.  The Loboes must win the first game to force the winner-take-all game.
