BARNES COUNTY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Memorial Day is for honoring military personnel who paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

Several veteran organizations will be conducting Military Honors consisting of wreath placement, prayer, gun salute, and taps.

Hillside Cemetery: 9am

St. Catherine’s: 9:15am

Oriska: 9:45am

St. Bernard’s Cemetery: 10am

Memory Gardens: 10:20am

Woodbine Cemetery: 10:50am

Valley City Eagles (Riverside) 11:15am, in the event of inclement weather the Military Honors will be conducted indoors at the Valley City Eagles Club.

After rending Military Honors a performance consisting of Patriotic music will be conducted at 11:30am by the Valley City Community Band along with Valley City High School band members. Attendees are then invited for lunch starting at 12pm in the Valley City Eagles Club.

The color guard will be at the Leal, North Dakota cemetery for an observance at 11am. Everyone is invited to the potluck meal at the Leal Firehall.

Memorial Day Peterson-Swenson American Legion Post #83 of Nome ceremonies schedule.

Fillmore Cemetery: 9:30am,

St. Petri Cemetary: 10:30am

Waldheim Cemetery: 11:30am.
