CARRINGTON- The Cardinal softball team picked up a Region II playoff win for a second consecutive year by defeating the Larimore Polar Bears 23-3 in five innings at Cardinal Softball Diamond.

Maara Kutz homered again and scored four runs, including twice in a ten-run bottom of the first inning, Isabel Wendel, and Kaydence Van Ray each scored four times while Bailey Ness was plated three times and Calleigh Hewitt gave up just four hits in the win.

With the win, Carrington advances to a second-round game in Grafton on Saturday against the Spoilers with the winner moving on to Monday’s quarterfinals.  Coverage on KDAK The Cardinal begins at 12:45 PM
