Oakes, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Kindred-Richland Vikings crunched the Oakes Tornadoes in Region 1 play as they won 15-0 in 5 innings in Oakes’ final home game of the season.
The game started well for the defenses of both teams as Tornadoes starter, Zade Heier, threw a 1-2-3 1st inning. The Tornadoes didn’t do much at the plate in their half of the first however as they would get Brogan Roney would get an infield single but leave him at 1st base.
The Vikings would score the first run of the game as Luke Starcevic would get on 1st via a base hit. He would then get to 2nd on an error from a pick off attempt, reach 3rd on a passed ball, and reach home on another error. That’d be the only scoring in the inning for either team.
The Vikings would score 3 more runs in the 3rd inning only 2 of which were earned. The Vikings would score 6 runs off 5 hits and an error in the 4th only 3 were earned runs. They would score 5 more runs in the 5th off of 4 hits to make the score 15-0.
The winning pitcher was Fisher Johnson who went 5.0 IP with 3 H, 1 BB, 7 K. The losing pitcher was Zade Heier with 2.0 IP, 2 h, 1 BB, 1 K, 3 R, 1 ER.
The Bank North Player of the Game was Tristan Peterson.
