June Hanna Polo Bauder, 91, was embraced into heaven on April 30, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and light that will forever shine in the hearts of those who knew her.
June was born on June 3, 1932, in Salvo Township to August and Lempi Karjalainen Polo. She and her three sisters had a special connection and many adventures growing up on a farm near Frederick, SD. June and Bill Bauder were married on June 8, 1950 and raised their three children on their farm near Berlin, ND nurturing the land, crops, livestock, and commitment to family.
Known for her gentle spirit and boundless compassion, June had an extraordinary ability to see the good in everyone. She could effortlessly strike up a conversation with anyone, spreading warmth and joy wherever she went. Her genuine interest in others and her ability to brighten the day for those around her were gifts that will be dearly missed.
June was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who crossed her path. She always enjoyed times with friends at monthly birthday club, women’s bowling league, neighbor visits, Senior Citizen meals, church events, traveling, and especially the visits when friends stopped by for a coffee or pop and a cookie. June treasured the bonds with her sister-in-law Betty, nieces, nephews, and relatives near and far.
June set a profound example of love, family, and hard work, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her unwavering love and support created a foundation of strength and unity that will endure through generations.
June is survived by her children Barbara and Bill (son by marriage) Malaski, Wishek, ND; Keith Bauder, Riverton, WY; and Teri and David (son by marriage) Preisler, LeCenter, MN; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Karissa and Shane (grandson by marriage), Tracen, Terren Kautzman, Bismarck, ND; Tia and Josh (grandson by marriage), Liam, Emery, Dixon Kiefer, Wishek, ND; Austin Malaski, Fargo, ND; Ethan and Amanda (granddaughter by marriage) William, Noah Preisler, Minnetrista, MN; Cody and Juhaan (grandson by marriage) Preisler, Excelsior, MN; sister-in-law Betty Fenno, Edgeley, ND and many nieces and nephews.
May June rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of those who have gone before her; William (Bill) Bauder, husband, August and Lempi Polo, (parents), sisters Vivian Polo Leicht (Del), Margaret Polo Hadley (Gerald), Shirley Polo Blakeley (Les), Adolph and Blanche Bauder, and brother-in-law Jack Fenno.
A celebration of life and religious service will be held on Thursday, May 9 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Edgeley, ND at 11:00 am with Visitation at 10:00 am. Interment – Mt. Hope Cemetery at Edgeley, ND
