CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – Another marvelous season for University of Jamestown Men’s Volleyball ended with the ultimate goal not being met.

The Master’s University defeated the Jimmies Thursday in the close of pool play in the NAIA Men’s Volleyball National Championship 25-19, 20-25, 29-27, 25-18 at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse.  The Master’s eliminated Jamestown and advanced to a Friday semifinal match.

Diego Perez led The Master’s (25-2) with 13 kills.  Will Avera had 10 kills.

Gaven Hackley had 15 kills (.242) for Jamestown (22-2), along with 10 assists, eight digs and two blocks.  In his 107th and final match for the Jimmies, Caylor Cox had 11 kills, 10 digs, three assists and two aces.  Caydann Cox had seven kills, four aces, seven digs and four blocks.

The Master’s, the top seed, held Jamestown to a hitting percentage of .095, far below their season average entering the match of .308.
